Media that arrives ready to publish

Creative lives in Canva folders and Drive links. Bringing it into a post should be one click, and the file that lands should already be the right size for every network it is going to.

Media
  • Import from Canva and Google Drive, or design in Adobe Express
  • Images and video compressed automatically, in the browser
  • Every asset checked against every network, not just the cover

Bring creative in from where it lives

Connect Canva or Google Drive once and pick designs straight from the editor — or open Adobe Express inside it and design in place. Imports go through the same pipeline as an upload, so they are held to the same rules. These integrations come with the Pro and Agency plans; uploading your own files works on every plan.

Connecting Canva or Drive happens in a small pop-up window, so the post you were halfway through writing is still there when you come back to it.

Order, cover and format

A post holds an ordered strip of media. The first item is the cover — the image on the calendar card, in the review email and in every preview — and dragging the strip reorders the carousel exactly as it will publish.

The format follows the strip: one image is an image post, several make a carousel, any video makes a video post. There is no setting to get out of step with the media.

Compressed before it leaves your browser

  • Images are progressively downscaled and re-encoded to stay small without visible loss
  • Large videos are re-encoded; small ones pass through untouched
  • Video covers are picked by scoring frames for sharpness and exposure — never a blank frame

Doing this in the browser means a 20 MB photo straight off a camera uploads as a light file, reviews load quickly on a client’s phone, and nobody has to resize anything by hand before adding it.

Every slide is checked

A carousel is judged slide by slide. If the fourth image is the wrong shape for Instagram, the warning names the fourth image — not a vague error about the post.

  • Shape: refused on networks that refuse it, flagged as a crop on networks that crop
  • Width: too-small images are caught before review
  • Video length: checked against each network’s minimum and maximum
  • Count: slides beyond a network’s limit are flagged, because they will be dropped

The full list of rules, network by network, is in the post limits guide.

Notes on a specific image

Clients can leave feedback on one item in the strip rather than the post as a whole, so “swap the third photo” arrives attached to the third photo. See collaboration for how the conversation works.

FAQ

Media, answered

Is there a file size limit?

Images are compressed automatically to keep them light. Videos are re-encoded when they are large, and each network’s own length limits are checked before you send.

Do I need a paid plan to import from Canva or Google Drive?

Canva, Google Drive and Adobe Express come with the Pro and Agency plans. Uploading your own files works on every plan, including Free.

Does compression reduce image quality?

Images are resized and re-encoded to stay small without visible loss at the sizes social networks display them.

How do I choose a video cover?

A cover is chosen automatically by scoring frames for sharpness, exposure and detail, so it is never a blank or black frame.
